The green movement is coming back around again and businesses and residences are realizing the need for tropical foliage indoors.  The benefits have been reported since the late 80’s when NASA examined the oxygen and air cleaning qualities of many plants and foliage for use in confined space travel.  The information was widely known since the discovery of oxygen in 1774 by Joseph Priestley who found that a candle would stay lit under a jar if a plant was placed in the jar as well, but would otherwise go out if left alone.  The NASA Clean Air Study found that besides oxygen production, plants filtered out other negative air  toxins, such as Formaldehyde, Benzene, Ammonia, and Xylene.  The study came up with a 1 plant per 100 square feet estimate for adequate cleaning and  has been further studied by Kamal Meattle from India who has added his thoughts on a variety of plants working together to clean substantially more making the indoor environment healthier that the outdoor Indian air.

We strongly believe in plants, no matter what their number, shape, size, or color.  We like their Vibe!  We know they are good for us, it is an intrinsic feeling within our spirit that says “I feel good here” when plants are around and helps on all kinds of comfort levels both conscious and subconscious.  That good vibe also adds to other stuff like increased productivity and general wellbeing, not to mention health and lower energy costs.  So should your building or home have plants?  I’m thinkin it should, do you have to go crazy and put in a forest, probably not.  But there are a lot of great options out there that fit your space, personality, and need.  We are here to help, so even if you want to DIY your interior landscape or have us help.  We are always available here at Plantkeeper Inc.
